Excellent hotel, very clean,very good service. Only downside is the noise,but there again it is on the busiest street in Edinburgh and coupled with having the windows open in the summer heat it's only to be expected. Would definitely visit the Old Waverly again

I made a booking for 6th to 8th November, which I had to cancel unfortunately. However, I would like to leave a review for the reception staff. Julia, whom I made the booking with, has the most excellent communication skills and was very helpful and welcoming. When I unfortunately had to cancel today, Zenia, was also extremely pleasant, efficient and helpful. I will book again as the staff are so lovely!

A real historic building. Stayed here for two days. And it was absolutely amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to dump our baggage off. And go get some lunch. And then return to check in. Plenty of signage up explaining the covid safety measures in place. Would definitely stay here again. It's in a very central location. Waverley Train Station is directly down the hill. Tram and Bus Stops all within walking distance. Allowing you to explore Edinburgh and the surrounding area. We did the Edinburgh Bus Tours trips and they were amazing great value for money. And did the Bus and Boat Experience. Which was amazing saw Puffins and Seals. The buses run from St Andrews Square. There is a Information Booth across the road opposite the Train Station. In Princes Street Gardens. Where you can buy tickets for the buses. As well as get any information you require. There is also mobile ticket sellers on the streets who do this also. Our hotel room was amazing and we had a great view overlooking Princes Street. You can catch the Bus or Tram to the Airport. Plenty of eating places nearby. And Marks and Spencer and Sainsburys are within walking distance for essentials. Highly recommend it.
