Not a hotel stay but rather a gym member experience. Jamie, at the gym and Margaret and her team have been superb regarding their thorough, efficient and personable service during these much difficult Covid times considering the pressures leisure teams are facing on a daily basis. Thanks to all the team working hard there, and for making a consistently positive, safe experience during these regulations. A proper example to all.

Very central location. Parking was very useful. Hotel room was better than expected in terms of size, views and comfort. The restaurant staff were very good. The ribs starter was delicious, my steak was cooked to perfection but I wasn't that keen on the oven chips. The SPA was smaller in areas but it had all l needed. Breakfast was great. I would go again.

I had a superb one night stay. Spent the evening relaxing in the sauna and at the pool, had a fantastic dinner at the restaurant that was decently priced but also high quality, and the service provided by all staff was very attentive and warm. I will heavily consider staying again when I'm in Edinburgh again!

We have just returned from a trip, with some of our family, to Edinburgh when we stayed at the Macdonald Holyrood Hotel It was my husband and my Diamond wedding. The hotel staff were helpful and efficient, the rooms well equipped and comfortable and although we only ate there one night the food was good. my only adverse comment is that when the hotel is busy, the dining room doesn't cope, resulting in some waiting. Our family group always went for breakfast around 8.30 and had no problems but saw queues forming fro 8.45 onwards.

Just had a very nice 2 night stay with hubby and two kids. Twin room & king size - both rooms were perfect and king-size was quite roomy. Stayed bed & breakfast, continental self service and cooked breakfast ordered and it was plentiful and tasted really good. We had dinner both nights which again was really good, batter on Fish & Chips was amazing. Caesar salad with anchovies, burger. Short BBQ ribs, meat was falling off the bone. All good size portions. Pre booked the swimming pool, was nice to be back in a pool again, was a few other people in too but all kept their distance. All staff were very helpful, friendly and ready to have a laugh and joke with you. Would definitely recommend staying here, quiet, comfortable beds, yes it isn't the closest to the town centre but a 10 min walk takes you to the royal mile and then another 10 min walk downhill to Prince Street. We used taxis sometimes which were very reasonable
